Site9 Launch Platform Slashes E-Commerce Site Development Time

Portland, Oregon—Using Site9™ Launch Platform as its web development technology, Handsome Smooths™ has introduced a vastly more robust e-commerce website in a fraction of the time normally required. The site was designed, built and deployed in less than four weeks, compared to an average of three or more months for comparable sites. HandsomeSmooths.com was a test site for the Site9 software suite, which empowers advertising, interactive and web development agencies to design and deploy feature-rich next-generation websites nine times faster with 60 percent less resources.

Nonbox®, a leading Portland marketing agency, worked with Site9 to integrate features that communicate the underwear brand's message on a regular basis for minimum effort and expense. Such features include e-commerce, e-postcard delivery, a travel journal, a photo library and monthly giveaways.

"The new website has completely transformed our business,'" said Andrew Tremblay, CEO of Handsome Smooths. "I'm really pleased with the e-commerce capabilities including the built-in tool for inventory control and shipping. It's also very easy to update and use to communicate with my customers. And, because the new platform is not template based, our website is able to stay ‘on brand,' which is key contributing factor to our success."

With the Site9 Launch Platform, dynamic and creative websites are built from scratch without templates. Site features are easily added through configurable modules, and site management tools are included. Next-generation features like social networking, podcasting, video-on-demand, RSS feeds, AJAX interfaces, and blogs are integrated into the program, so adding and integrating them to a site is easy and trouble-free. Furthermore, all pages are easily optimized for search engines and instantly updated through a web-based site management system.

"We have a number of advertising and interactive agencies who are eager to enjoy the benefits of our new software," said Site9 CEO Andrew Mottaz. "They're amazed how quickly they'll be able to build robust sites for their clients using our platform."

The software eliminates much of the time-consuming programming and third-party integration currently needed, resulting in an enormous time and cost savings for agencies and an easier-to-use site management system for their clients. The technology will be publicly available in Q4 2006.
